This is a list of primary, secondary, and recurring characters that appear in the animated series VeggieTales.

Bob the Tomato (introduced 1993) is usually the "straight man" in his partnership with Larry (the "Costello" of the pair), as they introduce many of the stories at the beginning and wrap-up the Biblical lesson at the end of most of the shows. He also plays many character roles in the story segments, some of which are in contrast to his more mature persona, which Phil Vischer called "my inner Mr. Rogers".[1] In later episodes, Bob's role has become less central, getting less onscreen time as compared to several other characters. He first appeared in 1993 in Big Idea's first video, Where's God When I'm S-Scared?. In it, he and Larry set the precedent for the opening format which has largely become a VeggieTales standard, where a letter is read from a viewer by the duo on the kitchen counter (which serves as a sort of stage). In this show, Bob played himself in the first of the two 15-minute segment titled "Tales from the Crisper", comforting a frightened Junior Asparagus with the cheerful song, "God is Bigger." The end of this episode started a running gag in which Bob is annoyed by the "What Have We Learned" end of episode song, impatiently waiting until it is over so that he can ask Qwerty what they've learned today. Although he may have mellowed as he tells Larry at the end of The Lord of the Beans that the song is starting to grow on him.
Though a convincing and easily identifiable anthropomorphic tomato from the start, his animation evolved over time to make him first more tomato-like, and later more cartoony. While in the first episodes Bob was very elastic in his animation, distorting himself significantly, this tendency was toned down greatly, giving him a more of a fruit-like consistency. The original elastic style was parodied in Rack, Shack, and Benny, when he and Mr. Lunt had an argument over what position constituted sitting or standing. Artistic changes were made as well: Bob's body became smaller in proportion to his face and more round, his skin became less shiny and more brightly red, eventually developing a smooth glow which was more stylistic and probably more kid-friendly. With improving technology at the disposal of Big Idea's artists, Bob's skin became gradually less angular, and the polygons that made his shell essentially disappeared. His leaves would also become more realistic-looking during Big Idea's transition to using Maya software. Phil Vischer's voice acting for Bob has taken a slightly higher pitch, although not nearly as significantly as Mike Nawrocki's voice acting for Larry the Cucumber.
Bob is voiced by VeggieTales co-creator Phil Vischer.
Larry the Cucumber (introduced 1993) partners with his best friend Bob as the wacky sidekick hosting the episodes. Larry also plays numerous and varied roles throughout the series and becomes the central character in the series in later episodes. Larry also stars in a spinoff role as the comical superhero Larry-Boy, in computer-animated and traditionally animated adventures. Larry-Boy is featured in the VeggieTales videos Larry-Boy! & the Fib from Outer Space!, Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed, and LarryBoy and the Bad Apple. Larry also appears as a main character in Dave and the Giant Pickle, Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler, Jonah Sing-Along Songs and in one of the bloopers of the movie, Jonah. His most notable role, however, is the host of a short, recurring musical segment entitled "Silly Songs with Larry," in which Larry performs hilarious musical numbers of various style and content matter.
Larry was first used by Vischer to make a short film called "Mr. Cuke's Screen Test" in 1989 and this film inspired Vischer and Mike Nawrocki to create VeggieTales. Larry's onscreen debut was in Big Idea's first video, called Where's God When I'm S-Scared? In this first episode, he was the source of most of the jokes, including physical gags and silly dialogue. The video also introduced "Silly Songs with Larry", in which he wore an oversized cowboy hat and sang "The Water Buffalo Song." The Silly Song segment, placed between halves of the traditionally half-hour long story, became a very popular staple of VeggieTales entertainment. Larry is the only character to have appeared in every single VeggieTales episode (to date).
One of the most notable differences between the Larry of "Where's God When I'm S-Scared" and more recent videos is the range of his voice. While Nawrocki has always performed Larry's voice, early shows were voiced with a broad vocal range, from Nawrocki's natural tenor to well above. Starting with "Are You My Neighbor?", that range was limited in scope to the upper range, giving Larry a more youthful, and of course, sillier sound. Also, in the earlier years, Larry had an obvious lisp. Gradually, Larry's speech became more normal, at about the time of the making of the film King George and the Ducky. Like Bob, Larry's appearance has also changed over the years. In the first thirteen episodes, his skin was a shiny, darker green color meant to imitate realistic cucumber skin. However, since the episode Esther...The Girl Who Became Queen, Larry's skin has become a much brighter and lighter shade of green.
Larry is one of the only Veggies to have spoken about, and seen with, his family. He talks about his Aunt Ruth in Dave and the Giant Pickle's Silly Song, "I Love My Lips," in which he describes that she "had a beard." Larry's Aunt Ruth is also referenced in Josh and the Big Wall when Larry conducts a slide show during the Silly Song, "Song of the Cebu". In Duke and the Great Pie War, he says that he has three brothers named Bob, Mark, and Steve, with Bob being the oldest. At the end of the show, the brothers join Bob and Larry and perform the "What Have We Learned" song. Larry has said that his father is an astronaut and he also talks about his father in The Wonderful Wizard of Ha's. He has a major recurring role as "Elliot", one of the The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything, appearing in as the character in several episodes as well as both VeggieTales movies. Larry most recently appears in the main role of "Stewart" in the show It's A Meaningful Life, which is a spinoff, in both title and overall theme, of the movie It's A Wonderful Life starring Jimmy Stewart.
Larry is voiced by VeggieTales co-creator Mike Nawrocki.
The five-year-old Junior Asparagus (introduced 1993) is one of the most active co-stars of the VeggieTales series. Junior is a typical playful child, but is wise beyond his years and has taken a lead or title role in several videos, including Where's God When I'm S-Scared?, Dave and the Giant Pickle, King George and the Ducky, Lyle the Kindly Viking, Larry-Boy! And the Fib from Outer Space!, and Lord of the Beans. He is also a member of the boy band "Boyz in the Sink", along with Larry, Mr. Lunt, and Jimmy Gourd, which have appeared in several Silly Songs. Junior has a loving relationship with his parents, named simply "Dad and Mom Asparagus", who have appeared in several of his videos. In "The Ballad of Little Joe", he plays Benjamin who is framed by Little Joe to see if his brothers have changed. Junior also has one of the leading roles in the VeggieTales movie, Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie.
In the initial episodes, Junior was as much a main character as Bob or Larry, having a starring role in at least one segment in every episode. He even appeared alongside Bob during Josh and the Big Wall, replacing Larry and even interacting with the story's characters. He also substituted for Larry in Abe and the Amazing Promise. Although as the series has evolved, his role has become less pronounced (such that Esther... The Girl Who Became Queen would become the first episode in which Junior did not make an appearance), Junior continues to be featured prominently with leading roles in such movies as Lyle the Kindly Viking (Lyle), The Wonderful Wizard of Ha's (Darby) and Lord of the Beans (Toto). Most recently, Junior has appeared as the title character in Pistachio – The Little Boy That Woodn't.
Junior is voiced by Lisa Vischer, wife of Phil Vischer.
Archibald Asparagus (introduced 1993), often referred to as simply Archie, often appears in the stereotypical role of a stuffy, classically-educated "adult" contrasting with the rest of his co-stars. Archibald has a pronounced British accent and a monocle, with a demeanor similar to Graham Chapman's sergeant-major character from Monty Python's Flying Circus or Sam the Eagle from The Muppet Show in which he wishes that the Veggies would "stop being so silly!" In earlier shows, Archibald had a more pronounced British accent with a side-mouth and no glass in his monacle, but the glass was added when the VeggieTales animators started using Maya. Archibald first appeared in Where's God When I'm S-Scared?, where he played King Darius in the Daniel and the Lion's Den segment and interrupted the Silly Song The Water Buffalo Song.
Contrasting with some of the other Veggies, Archie's 3D-animated depiction has remained generally the same over the years, except that the vectors have become less sharp with rising CG technology. He was the main singer in the song, The Biscuit of Zazzamarandabo. Archibald has also appeared as Larry-Boy's butler, Alfred, as the title character in Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie, as a butler in The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything and many more roles.
Archibald is voiced by VeggieTales co-creator Phil Vischer.
Mr. Lunt (introduced 1995, Improperly and Properly) is a decorative gourd[2] who grew up in New Jersey and speaks with an Italian/Hispanic accent. He often appears as Mr. Nezzer's assistant, and they debuted together in Rack, Shack, and Benny. He appears once again alongside Mr. Nezzer in Esther… The Girl Who Became Queen playing the evil Haman. Mr. Lunt also frequently appears as one of "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" in their various appearances. He has gotten two of his own Silly Songs ("His Cheeseburger" & "Doughnuts for Benny") and starred in two others alongside the "Boyz in the Sink" ("Belly Button" & "A Mess Down in Egypt"). A notable feature is his lack of eyes. He often wears a hat and uses the brim of the hat, or his eyebrows, for expression. Mr. Lunt appears in The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything as Sedgewick and in Minnesota Cuke & the Search for Samson's Hairbrush & Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah's Umbrella as the twin brothers Rattan and Wicker.
Mr. Lunt is voiced by Phil Vischer.
Jimmy and Jerry Gourd (introduced 1994, Improperly 1995, Properly) are brothers and are generally a secondary comic duo. While Bob and Larry can be considered animated versions of Abbott and Costello, Jimmy (the orange gourd) and Jerry (the yellow gourd) might more closely resemble Tweedledee and Tweedledum. The pair debuted together in Are You My Neighbor?. This episode also established that they love to eat. Later they appear in Dave and the Giant Pickle, Josh and the Big Wall! and King George and the Ducky. Jimmy appears in "the end of silliness" and is a member and of the boy band "Boyz in the Sink" (The Ballad of Little Joe and Moe and the Big Exit) while Jerry appears with Mr. Lunt in the Silly Song "His Cheeseburger" (furthering his reputation as loving to eat). Together the pair did musical commentary in Sweetpea Beauty: A Girl After God's Own Heart.
Jimmy and Jerry are voiced respectively by Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki.
As her name implies, Madame Blueberry (introduced 1998) is a French blueberry and first appeared as the title character in Madame Blueberry. Both her name and the theme of this video are obvious allusions to the tale of Madame Bovary, who also seeks to spend beyond her means in order to find happiness. Although a blueberry, she is similar in size to Bob the Tomato and much larger than the similarly-sized-in-real-life French Peas.
Madame Blueberry has a reoccurring role as the Mayor of Bumblyburg and can be seen in Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed and Larry-Boy and the Bad Apple. She has also appeared as Nona, Princess Petunia's mother-in-law, in Duke and the Great Pie War, as The Queen in Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler, and as McPotipher's jealous star entertainer in The Ballad of Little Joe, as Splenda, the sweet, but non-fattening fairy in The Wonderful Wizard of Ha's, and as the Blue Fairy (pronounced like "blueberry") in Pistachio – The Little Boy That Woodn't". Most recently, she appeared as the vain Queen Blueberry in Sweetpea Beauty: A Girl After God's Own Heart.
Madame Blueberry has been voiced by Megan Moore Burns and G. Bock, but is currently voiced by Megan Murphy.
Petunia Rhubarb (introduced 1998, Imroperly 2005, Properly) is a red-headed rhubarb, but unlike the other Veggies, looks little like the vegetable that she is supposed to portray. Petunia is one of the show's newest major characters and is often cast alongside Larry, usually as a love interest for his various characters (Larry-Boy, Minnesota Cuke, etc.). Her first VeggieTales appearance is in Duke and the Great Pie War in which she plays Princess Petunia, the scorned "Ruth" waiting to be redeemed by Larry's "Boaz". Continuing the theme, she has appeared as a reporter in LarryBoy and the Bad Apple, as Sally in Moe and the Big Exit, as Julia in Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Samson's Hairbrush and Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah's Umbrella, and as Bernadette in The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie - all as the love interest opposite Larry the Cucumber. She recently was featured in her own silly song titled "Where Have All The Staplers Gone?" in Pistachio - The Little Boy That Woodn't. Her most recent appearances have been as the title character in Sweetpea Beauty: A Girl After God's Own Heart and as the lead role of Marley Meed in Twas The Night Before Easter.
Petunia Rhubarb is voiced by Cydney Trent.
Pa Grape (introduced 1993, Improperly 1994, Properly) is, as his name suggests, an elderly-looking grape with glasses and a Yiddish accent. Pa made his first appearance in God Wants Me to Forgive Them!?! as is the father of Tom and Rosie Grape and husband of Ma Grape (Tom made two more appearances in Dave and the Giant Pickle and Josh and the Big Wall, but Ma and Rosie have not appeared in any other videos since). Pa has a reoccurring role as one of the "Pirates Who Don't Do Anything", along with Larry and Mr. Lunt, and appears as George in The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything movie. He has also appeared in many secondary roles: as the wise storyteller in King George and the Ducky; as Dave's father, Jesse, in Dave and the Giant Pickle; as Little Joe's father in The Ballad of Little Joe; as the trainer Irwin in Duke and the Great Pie War; as cousin Mordecai in Esther… The Girl Who Became Queen; as the Monk who Lyle helps in Lyle the Kindly Viking; as Larry's trainer in Sumo of the Opera; as a floss farmhand and The Lion in The Wonderful Wizard of Ha's; as the angel sent to guide Gideon in Gideon: Tuba Warrior; and as the nurse in the Silly Song, The Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps. He also appears as the title character in Abe and the Amazing Promise and his most recent appearance was as the wood seller in Pistachio – The Little Boy That Woodn't.
Pa Grape is voiced by Phil Vischer and occasionally Mike Nawrocki
Mr. Nezzer (introduced 1995, Improperly and Properly) is a zucchini who frequently takes the villain roles in the VeggieTales videos. Mr. Nezzer made his debut in Rack, Shack, and Benny as "Nebby K. Nezzer", an interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon. In this episode he owns a chocolate bunny factory with Mr. Lunt as his unpleasant foreman, who serves as the main antagonist of the episode. In The Toy That Saved Christmas, Mr. Nezzer plays brother "Wally P. Nezzer", again with side-kick and chief trouble-maker Mr. Lunt. In The Star of Christmas and An Easter Carol, he is "Ebenezer Nezzer", owning a theatre, in the Christmas video, and an Easter egg factory employing Cavis and Millward (based on Gilbert and Sullivan) in the Easter video. He has had several other starring roles appearing as King Xerxes of Persia in Esther… The Girl Who Became Queen, as the lead Viking, Olaf, in Lyle the Kindly Viking, as the Mayor of Dodgeball City in The Ballad of Little Joe and Moe and the Big Exit, as the wizard Randolph in Lord of the Beans, as Mr. Hibbing in The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie, as Novak in Duke and the Great Pie War, as "Da Coach" in Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Samson's Hairbrush, as the manager of the Food Factory in the Don Quixote's story and as Detective Trout in Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler, and as Henry Muffett and the Judge in Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah's Umbrella.
Mr. Nezzer has also had many minor or cameo roles in VeggieTales videos. In Larry-Boy and the Fib from Outer Space!, he has three cameo appearances as one of the citizens of Bumblyburg. In Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed, he again appears as a Bumblyburg citizen and remembers the time when Alfred (played by Archibald Asparagus) helped him out for a good dinner party. In Josh and the Big Wall!, he has a non-speaking role, and is only briefly seen, as Moses. In Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie, he makes an appearance as an Israeli cheese curls store manager. In Gideon: Tuba Warrior, he is one of the hairy Midianites. Mr. Nezzer can also be seen in Silly Songs as he sings a new and improved version of "The Bunny Song" (which he originally sings in "Rack, Shack, and Benny") in Very Silly Songs! and background figure in the Classy Song with Larry, "Larry's High Silk Hat".
Mr. Nezzer is voiced by Phil Vischer.
Headed by Philippe and Jean-Claude, the French Peas (introduced 1995, Improperly 1996, Properly) are a group of Monty Python-esque green peas with similar broken French accents (that seem to harken more back to Maurice Chevalier). They are often portrayed as villains, albeit agitating ones as opposed to menacing. Like the French soldiers in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the French Peas often taunt passersby with strange, nonsensical threats, such as pouring grape slushies from vats and cement trucks from atop the wall they are guarding in Josh and the Big Wall!. This can also be seen in their first appearance when the French Peas played the Philistines in Dave and the Giant Pickle. In this episode we also learn the name of a third brother, Christophe. They have also appeared as narrators (in Madame Blueberry and Going Up!), palace guards (in Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler), the Peaoni brothers in Esther… The Girl Who Became Queen, and, at least once, as good guys (as a group in The Wonderful Wizard of Ha's, as Munchies in Munchieland). In The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill and Came Down With All the Bananas, they can be heard commenting from time to time "You are SO SELFISH!" - which fits their overall "yapping little dog" personas.
In both Madame Blueberry and Lyle the Kindly Viking, you see a little more of their good guy side although it is still sprinkled in with their usual dose of sass. In "Madame Blueberry", they help Bob come up with a story to teach Larry how to be thankful and in "Lyle" they help Archibald who is trying to make this VeggieTales episode more classy by delivering the "long lost" Shakespeare play "Omelet". Other non-speaking peas or those without French accents have appeared in Esther… The Girl Who Became Queen playing the "wheels" in Haman's "chariot" and Lyle the Kindly Viking appearing alongside the monk Pa Grape.
Philippe and Jean-Claude are voiced respectively by Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki. Christophe is voiced by Chris Olsen, a former narrator. Numerous voice actors have played the other French peas, including animator Brian K. Roberts.
Qwerty (introduced 1993) is the desktop computer seen on the kitchen counter which Bob and Larry use to read the Bible verse at the end of each show. Though Qwerty is not alive per se, it does have certain anthropomorphic characteristics, including responsory noises and voice activation. Qwerty's name comes from the first six letters on a standard English keyboard. According to Phil Vischer, Qwerty is an Intel 80386 model computer. In every episode, Bob says "We're over here by Qwerty to talk about what we learned today..." to which voices start to sing the "What We Learned Today" song, which Larry loves but Bob initially dislikes, but then begins to enjoy, as he tells Larry at the end of The Lord of the Beans that the song is starting to grow on him.
Qwerty is not always perfect, as you expect from a computer. In the first episode "Where's God When I'm S-Scared?", he accidentally posted a meatloaf recipe instead of a verse, after which his screen drooped into a frown shape. Qwerty was slightly updated in Abe and the Amazing Promise, giving two verses instead of one. Qwerty got a more "life-changing" update in the episode Pistachio - The Little Boy That Woodn't and now has his own voice.
Qwerty is voiced by Mike Nawrocki as of "Pistachio"
The Scallions (introduced 1993) are a trio of often devious green scallions who are led by the tallest member. They debuted as a group playing the wisemen opposite Larry's "Daniel" in the second act of the video Where's God When I'm S-Scared? and returned as the robbers in the The Story of Flibber-o-loo, the fist act of Are You My Neighbor?. They also appear as devious Stuff Mart salesmen in the video Madame Blueberry. In the Silly Song "The Yodeling Veterinarian Of The Alps", they appear as 3/4 of the barbershop quartet (along with Frankencelery) and narrate the story through song. In Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah's Umbrella they appear as themselves. The shortest scallion, who sings high tenor in the quartet, is known as the "milk money bandit" in one of the Larry-Boy stories. In Pistachio - The Little Boy That Woodn't, the two taller scallions play the parts of the Fox and the Cat. None of the Scallions have names, which Scallion #1 points out in the "Classy Songs with Larry" segment of Lyle the Kindly Viking ("They've never given me a name. I've been around since show one and I still don't have a name.").
Scallion #1 is voiced by Phil Vischer, Scallion #2 is voiced by Mike Nawrocki, and Scallion #3 has been voiced by Mike Sage and Brian Roberts.
Scallion #1 (introduced 1993) is the British-accented leader of The Scallions. Along with Mr. Nezzer, and Mr. Lunt, Scallion #1 is one of the most consistent villains in VeggieTales. He first appeared apart from the other scallions in "The Forgive-o-Matic" as a devious salesman who tries to sell a machine that supposedly gives automatic forgiveness from God. He subsequently appears as one of the bandits in Are You My Neighbor?, a bank robber in the Silly Song Oh, Santa!, a selfish Englishman in The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill and Came Down With All the Bananas, King George's general, Cedric, in King George and the Ducky, the host of the Miss Persia Pageant in Esther… The Girl Who Became Queen, a custodian in Lyle the Kindly Viking|Larry's High Silk Hat, the Abbot of Costello in Duke and the Great Pie War, a park-man in Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Samson's Hairbrush and as Scaryman (a spoof of Saruman) in Lord of the Beans. In the Silly Song Larry's High Silk Hat from Lyle the Kindly Viking, he complains that he has never been given a name despite being in the very first episode, claiming, "They've never given me a name. I've been around since show one and I still don't have a name!"
Scallion #1 is voiced by Phil Vischer.
Junior's father Dad Asparagus (introduced 1993) has appeared in many VeggieTales videos starting with Where's God When I'm S-Scared?. He often appears opposite Junior whenever a video requires a father figure in such videos as Larry-Boy and the Fib from Outer Space!, Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie, and Are You My Neighbor? Seen less often, Junior's Mother, Mom Asparagus (introduced 1993), appears in the traditional mother role supporting Junior and can be seen in such videos as Where's God When I'm S-Scared? and Larry-Boy and the Fib from Outer Space!.
Dad Asparagus is voiced by Dan Anderson and Mom Asparagus has been voiced by Gail Bock, Lisa Vischer and Keri Pisapia.
Scooter (introduced 1994, Improperly 1995, Properly), a carrot with a Scottish accent, first appeared as the engineer of the USS Applepies in The Gourds Must Be Crazy, a spoof of Scotty from the original Star Trek television series. Scooter has also appeared as a police officer in the first three LarryBoy stories (Larry-Boy! & the Fib from Outer Space!, Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed, and LarryBoy and the Bad Apple). He can also be seen as an Israelite in Josh and the Big Wall!, as chef Horatio in Omelet, as a singing performer in The Wonderful World of Auto-Tainment!, as Mr. McPotipher in The Ballad of Little Joe, as Moyer "The Destroyer" LaGumtree in The Star of Christmas and An Easter Carol, as Angus in Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie, as Detective Butterbun in The Strange Case of Dr. Jiggle and Mr. Sly, as an ice cream man in Going Up!, as a Sumo wrestler in Sumo of the Opera, as the Announcer in Bully Trouble, as a citizen of London in Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler, as a pirate at Jolly Joe's in The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie, and as Otto in Tomato Sawyer and Huckleberry Larry's Big River Rescue. No matter which character he plays, Scooter maintains his original Scottish accent.
Scooter is voiced by Jim Poole and occasionally Tim Hodge.
The Carrots (introduced 1994, Improperly 1995, Properly) are a family of baby carrots, as opposed to Scooter, a much larger carrot. Laura, the middle child, debuted in Rack, Shack, and Benny and is Junior's best friend. Laura is the only recurring member of the family, while the other members of the Carrot family never appear in shows without Laura. The rest of Laura's family including older brother, Lenny, and younger brother, Baby Lou, debuted in The Story of Flibber-o-loo (they are citizens of Jibberty Lot and Boby Lou says that his pot is "more like a kettle...") and returned in The Toy That Saved Christmas. Laura and her family can also be seen together in Babysitter in DeNile and Larry-Boy and the Fib from Outer Space!. Laura appears in the VeggieTales movie Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie as one of the main characters.
Laura Carrot has been voiced by Kristin Blegen, Jackie Ritz and Keri Pisapia and Lenny Carrot has been voiced by both Natalia Lozano and Briget Miller.
Mabel and Penelope (introduced 1993, Improperly 1998, Properly) are a pear and an asparagus, respectively. Like Archibald, they have British accents, though unlike Archibald, theirs are cockney. The pair's first appearance was in Where's God When I'm S-Scared? as King Darius's maidservants. They also appear in Lyle the Kindly Viking in which Mabel is Jimmy's wife and Penelope is Mr. Nezzer's wife.
Mabel and Penelope are voiced respectively by Pamela Thomas and Gail Bock.
Frankencelery (introduced 1993) first appears in Where's God When I'm S-Scared? as Phil Winklestein, the star of the veggie horror film Frankencelery. Hailing from Toledo, Ohio, Frankencelery, as he is generally referred to, is a mild-mannered, high-voiced celery stalk (although in The Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps, he sings the low bass part in a quartet with the Scallions). Apparently Winkelstein actually sports purple eyelids, cervical electrodes, black hair, and a unibrow outside of his acting career, since in all of his appearances he is bedecked to resemble the classic Frankenstein's monster but behaves more like Herman Munster. He also appeared as a background citizen of Bumblyburg in Larry-Boy and the Fib from Outer Space!.
Frankencelery is voiced by Phil Vischer.
The Green Onions (introduced 1996, Improperly and Properly) are a family consisting of Annie, her two parents, and Grandpa George. Grandpa George was the first Green Onion to be seen and made his debut in Rack, Shack, and Benny as the postman/episode narrator. Annie first appeared in The Toy That Saved Christmas, alongside Grandpa George who reprises his postman role, where it is revealed that he and Annie are related. Annie's parents first appeared, alongside Annie, in Madame Blueberry playing poor French green onions (otherwise known as scallions). Grandpa George plays the part of Clark Wayne (an allusion to Mark Twain), the show's narrating security guard gatekeeper, in Tomato Sawyer and Huckleberry Larry's Big River Rescue. He also makes a brief cameo in Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie.
Annie Onion has been voiced both by Shelby Vischer, Phil Vischer's daughter, and in 2005, by Allie Nawrocki, Mike Nawrocki's daughter. Annie's parents are voiced by Phil and Lisa Vischer. Grandpa George is voiced by Phil Vischer.
Miss Achmetha (introduced 2000, Improperly and Properly) is a green onion who made her first appearance singing the song Lost Puppies in Esther… The Girl Who Became Queen. She later performed the same song in Twas The Night Before Easter. Her other roles include the Pharaoh's daughter in Babysitter in De-Nile, the elf girl in the Silly Song My Baby Elf, and the confused nurse in Abe and the Amazing Promise. She has also appeared in several other Silly Songs such as Larry's High Silk Hat, Bellybutton, and Sport Utility Vehicle. Miss Achmetha is known for her constantly twitching eye and her accordion, which she sometimes plays during her singing roles.
Miss Achmetha is voiced by Charlotte Jackson.
Khalil (introduced 2001, Improperly 2002, Properly) is a half worm, half caterpillar who speaks with an Indian accent. Khalil first appeared in Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie as a rug salesman. Khalil has also appeared in The Ballad of Little Joe as the doctor in the "Boyz in the Sink" Silly Song Bellybutton and in Sumo of the Opera where he voices the sock puppet Lutfi and teaches about Saint Patrick. His most recent appearance is as Cricket in Pistachio – The Little Boy That Woodn't, in which he made numerous references to his appearance in Jonah (e.g. mentioning that he's half-caterpillar, claiming you can live inside a whale for 2-3 days, and trying to look for angels after being eaten by a whale).
Khalil is voiced by Tim Hodge.
Archibald's Wife (introduced 1994) first appeared in Larry's Lagoon as "Lovey". Her other appearances are in The Story of Flibber-o-Loo as the Flibbian doctor who is "much too busy" to help Larry and in Silly-Sing-Along 2 where she is seen with Archibald in Jimmy's ice cream parlor.
Archibald's Wife is voiced by G. Bock.
Tom Grape (introduced 1993, Improperly 1994, Properly) is a grape and is Pa Grape's son. Tom made his first appearance in God Wants Me to Forgive Them!?!, along with the rest of his family. He also played one of David's older brothers in Dave and the Giant Pickle and one of the Israelites in Josh and the Big Wall, both times alongside Pa Grape.
Tom Grape is voiced by Phil Vischer.
The Peach (introduced 1994, Improperly 1995, Properly) first appears in the Silly Song Where is My Hairbrush? and is only ever referred to by the rest of the cast as "the peach". He later appeared in the Oh, Santa! Silly Song in which he played an IRS agent. The running joke about The Peach is that he, unlike all the other characters, has hair. He was thus the obvious choice to play Samson in Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Samson's Hairbrush, however he is seen only in still pictures throughout the show.
The Peach is voiced by Mike Nawrocki.
Don Gourdon (introduced 2005) (also called either Bobby or Chester) is one of the schoolyard bullies who is around Junior Asparagus' age. He first appeared in Bully Trouble, had a cameo in LarryBoy and the Bad Apple, and later appeared in The Wonderful Wizard of Ha's.
Don Gourdon is voiced by Brian K. Roberts.
Henry (introduced 1994) is a potato and first appeared in The Forgive-O-Matic. He also appears in The Forgive-O-Matic as a miner from West Virginia and as Po-Ta-To (a spoof of Mr T's character Clubber Lang from Rocky III) in the Sumo of the Opera.
Henry is voiced by Greg Whalen.
Asparagus by nature, Art Bigotti (introduced 1997, Improperly 1998, Properly) is a bowling champion. Although he has yet to have an individual speaking part and has only appeared in one VeggieTales episode, the Silly Song High Silk Hat, Art Bigotti has been mentioned in other episodes such as when Junior Asparagus unintentionally breaks his dad's rare "Art Bigotti limited edition collector's plate" in Larry-Boy and the Fib from Outer Space!.
Goliath (introduced 1996) is a pickle that's more gigantic than any other vegetable in the show. He first appeared as the "Goliath" figure alongside the French Peas in Dave and the Giant Pickle looking for an Israelite to fight. He also appeared in Madame Blueberry, on a background poster in which he is fighting the Fib in a wrestling match, and in Josh and the Big Wall as the dad of a giant-pickle family that scared the Israelites out of the Promised Land.
Goliath is voiced by Phil Vischer.
Ellen (introduced 1998, Improperly 2008, Properly), appears in "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie", as Mr Lunt's girlfriend, and in "It's a Meaningful Life".
Ellen is voiced by Keri Pisapia.
